One Year of Mwandamo NGO in Tanzania: Empowering Women, Building Futures!

Today marks a meaningful milestone for us — one year since Mwandamo was officially registered as an NGO in Tanzania. As co-founders, we have taken a moment to reflect on this journey, and we are filled with gratitude, humility, and renewed purpose.

Mwandamo began as a shared vision: to support and empower women in Tanzania, and to stand alongside them as they shape their own futures. Over the past year, that vision has grown into a living, breathing community — one grounded in trust, collaboration, and the belief that lasting change begins with women.

What has impacted us most over this year is not just the progress made, but the people behind it. We have had the privilege of working with and learning from remarkable women whose resilience, creativity, and leadership continue to inspire us every day. Their stories are powerful reminders that empowerment is not something we give — it is something we nurture, support, and walk alongside.

We have seen firsthand that when women are given the space, tools, and support to thrive, the impact reaches far beyond the individual. Families grow stronger, communities become more resilient, and opportunities expand for future generations.

This year has been one of learning. We have listened deeply, adapted constantly, and grown in ways we could not have anticipated. And while we are proud of how far Mwandamo has come, we are even more excited about what lies ahead.

There is still so much to do. Our commitment remains the same — to continue supporting women in Tanzania, to amplify their voices, and to work in partnership towards sustainable, meaningful change.

To everyone who has supported Mwandamo over the past year — thank you. Your belief in this mission has helped turn an idea into impact.

This is only the beginning.

With gratitude,
Caroline & Hannah
